Titania

A Midsummer Night’s Dream

2025

This costume was created for an exhibition in collaboration with Glyndebourne Opera House, inspired by Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream (1600) and Oliver Messel’s romantic stage design. Designed for the Faerie Queen Titania, it draws on the imagery of the luna moth—light, luminous, and pulled by the moon.

The gown layers organza, chiffon, and embroidered tulle to shimmer like moonlight, while the corset, made from recycled plastic bottles and fabric scraps, balances sustainability with strength for both stage and exhibition display. Hand-finished sequins and embroidery encourage detailed, 360° viewing.
